Charles, in all honesty, never really understood how he ended up in this kind of situation.
To be a tad bit more specific, he does not know how he ended up with a weeping toddler no older than three or four, skinny and positively helpless after hours of hunger pain and exhaustion. He does a little sweep and skim of the boy’s mind and finds out that his name is Alex (and it suited him quite well).
