After several streaks of bad luck, Therion finds himself in the depths of the Frostlands, cold, alone, without food or money. And who should happen upon him but Alfyn, the happy hick from the heart of the Riverlands!
A snowstorm comes and the two end up snowed in, two strangers stuck together for the foreseeable future.
