Solas looks out across the river, and for a moment he is dizzy with the way the waves beckon him, the little lies they tell in every shift of the tide. He should deny it, but he finds that he cannot.
‘Most especially me,' he says heavily.Solas is a famous detective with a troubled history dating back to the wars that destroyed his homeland. When he embarks on a cruise along the Enavuris River to pursue a lead in his most recent case, he encounters a passionate love triangle which comes to a fatal end.
Complicating the tragedy is the fact that the victim Justinia, heiress to the Chantry fortune, was murdered with Solas’ own gun. And then there’s the problem of his extremely inconvenient attraction to the prime suspect, Jacqueline Lavellan.
As the cruise continues through the wilderness, rapidly approaching the Veil that separates the south of Thedas from the mysterious north, Solas races to uncover the truth before the killer can strike again.

Summary
This is the story of Kate Enasallen, living her teenage years in Kirkwall during the time of the Champion. She leaves Denerim as a stowaway after the Battle changes her life forever, and through a series of misadventures eventually ends up in Kirkwall and befriending (or not) the usual suspects. But this story is not about them or their shenanigans, it’s about a lost teenager trying to find her place in the world, while also having to survive Kirkwall.
I originally planned to write about Kate living during the time of the Inquisition, but as I figured out her backstory, I fell in love with her wild, younger self, and decided to forego the flashbacks and to give the cheeky, lost girl her own story. Her journey through the Inquisition will be the second part of the series. I am a big fan of Dragon Age 2, so it really was inevitable that we’d end up here…

Now, not only working with but leading a small army, the girls must reevaluate where they fit in the world and what their future holds.
Co-Written with my best friend, Elven_Royalty, who just joined Ao3. We each switch off from chapter to chapter in order to write from our own OCs perspectives as they progress through the game. All game dialogue will be included in some form or another, but we will also work to expand on the characters and the world itself.
