Summary
Set in 1920s America. Sam doesn't want to be a cop, despite his dad's wishes, and he ends up stumbling into the life of a man named Crowley McLeod. He joins the mob, and finds himself more fascinated by the new work than he has been by than anything else in his life.

Dirk Strider tried to stay away from the bad parts of town. The parts were gangs were common. Even when it meant going ages out of his way, or just not go places.
His little brother, Dave, had noticed this and found it weird with how strong his black belted brother was but never brought it up, figuring Dirk just didn't like that side of town with the large scale violence for no real reason.
If only he knew just how wrong he was. If only he knew exactly how often Dirk ended up in those parts of town.

This started as a request prompt fill for the lovely cannibalismforbeginners on Tumblr, and grew - as prompts do between cognomen and I - into a monster. A mobster AU fic where Hannibal runs the biggest human trafficking ring in America, and Will is the new FBI agent sent to bring him down with a rico case. Hannibal knows who he is but plays along nonetheless, because he, in turn, wants something from Will.
