He barely had time to see the beast's eyes narrow in on his neck- Its eyes bulging as it lunged. He scrambled to get out of its way, blocking his neck and face with his hands. The beast didn't hesitate, its teeth instead sinking into his shoulder with a loud crack.
Severus' scream was blood curdling.
Distantly the dog barked, the stag squealed, but it was of no use- long teeth tore through tendons, blood pooled on the floor around him. Someone shot through the trapdoor- another person apparated inside- distantly Severus was aware of the wolf above him going slack- but it did not matter. Nothing could lessen the pain.

Severus is bitten during the prank, leaving the Marauders in shambles. Unsure of if he will turn or not, they do their best to take care of him and ensure he wont die and get Remus into legal trouble.
