Summary
The slap of skin against skin filled the room. For a second, Annabeth contemplated walking out. Her mouth twisted at the idea despite the sight before her. No. She wasn’t going to. This was too important to delay and Annabeth didn’t know the next time she could afford to skip away to meet with Zeus.
Annabeth cleared her throat. Loudly.
It was only then the nymph’s eyes fluttered open. Her mouth was already wide open, moans still spilling at it while Zeus thrusted into her, so it wasn’t like she could open it from shock at seeing Annabeth at the doorway.
“Get out.” Annabeth told her, voice sharp. It wasn’t her fault, she knew. The nymph had no way of knowing this was drop site Annabeth and Zeus had agreed on.

Nico’s grief could be found in his face. He wasn’t gaunt but there was a hollowness to his cheeks that hadn’t been there during the gladiator fight despite that event being held for Thaila’s honor; since the bombing, he had lost weight he hadn’t needed to lose. If Percy was here, he would have been worried.
Nico looked at her. “Annabeth.”
He didn’t try to hug her. Of course not. Despite how much Percy had meant to both of them, they weren’t friends.
Nico wasn’t her friend. Probably never would. (It wasn’t Annabeth’s nature to easily let people in. It wasn’t in Nico’s nature anymore either; not that Annabeth had personally known Nico before he became the angry, grieving boy she had met during the first quest she had lead. She had only known the boy Nico had once been through the words Percy had written out about him.) But he had meant something to Percy. Had meant something to Percy before he had really gotten the chance to know the son of Hades; Bianca’s death had changed Percy. Before her death, he hadn’t wanted to claim the Great Prophecy. But then she had died, leaving Nico behind, and Percy had been willing to take it on despite it likely costing his life.

Summary
This wasn’t the longest time in the past 3 years that Annabeth had gone without talking to Percy.
Occasionally, they would both get caught up with trying to fit in at school, (or in Percy’s case trying not to fail or get kicked out of school) or with other problems like Annabeth getting in another fight with her step-mom, that they would forget to text or call each other. On the rare occasion that this happened for a long period of time, it still seemed to go unnoticed. The two would go back to talking about their lives, new books Annabeth was reading, a new shark species Percy was obsessed with, and gossiping about camp drama like nothing happened.
But while this wasn’t the longest time Annabeth hadn’t talked to Percy, it definitely felt like it.

She gave a smile. It wasn’t a genuine one. “I’m feeling better. How are you, Seaweed Brain?”
She was going to act like everything was normal. Of course she was. (If it was him, would he do the same?)

Percy interrupted her. He purposely spoke softly. “Were you really sick?”

When it came to people he loved, Percy was willing to forgive a lot.
(He had never told his mom about the judo-flip.)
Annabeth stared at him instead of immediately answering his accusation. He could see the gears in Annabeth’s mind turning. “I wasn’t sick but I was injured.”
Over the years, Percy had many adults who told him to breathe in and out to control his anger. It never worked. He wished it did. Annabeth had been wounded and Poseidon hadn’t even offered her ambrosia. Percy debated returning to the ocean after this and-
