There's a lot of talking, mostly at inopportune moments, Tony's views on the acceptable gifts to give people are slightly different from everyone else's and he spends more time than would seem necessary being (half-)naked. The way he’s feeling now, he doesn’t think that would be such a bad thing. He aches everywhere. His head feels like post-rage Bruce is dancing a tango on his temples. And his mouth; Jesus, why does it taste like that? He doesn’t even want to think about where his tongue has been. It’s nowhere pretty by the taste of it.
Groaning, he reaches over the side of the bed – hang on, whose bed is this? – and fumbles around under a pile of clothes, finding the very expensive cell-phone. I love AU fusions, and the Dragonriders of Pern series is a very interesting world to frolic in. None of the characters from Pern have show up, yet--which is fine because the cast is already pretty large--but the Marvel characters are worked believably and interestingly into the existing world structure.
Tony is the first (and only) male Gold dragonrider and this is a backstory-and-get-together fic.

Have I mentioned I love long fic? I LOVE LONG FIC, especially well-written plotty ones, like this! This was kind of depressingly stressful and bleak, for all that the end was sweet and hopeful, and how I'm going to have to find some fluff to console myself with, but still, definitely worth the read.
Plot: At his lowest point, Tony finds Wanda and begs her to help him fix things. She sends him back in time to try again.

This is perfect, perfect Tony-blind POV fluff, and I say fluff because it glosses over the potential angst with sly humor and witty dialogue--both Tony's internal babble and actual conversations surrounding the other characters. The love story is slow and sweet filled with little heart-pangs that make the payoff all the better, and the tone is amused in the way I think more superhero fanfic SHOULD be--at the inherent absurdity in a world filled with costumed superhumans running rampant.

I never really like things set in the Ultimates universe, but that's because I'm a big sap and the Ultimates universe is full of spiky hard bitchiness and petty team drama. More than usual Marvel bullshit. BUT. I like this story a lot, despite being set in my least favorite Avenger's timeline. It has a lot of spikiness, but I still believe that these people can be a team and work together and not kill one another. It's a long story about downtime, and recovery from Natasha's betrayal. It's also a Steve/Tony get-together fic, but I think the cutest bits are Thor and Clint with Quicksilver.

It took me a while to get into this one, though I think mostly due to my intense dislike of non-linear timelines. This is an AU of an AU wherein Noir!Tony met and fell in love with Skinny!Steve Rogers and then meets Captain America years after losing Steve to the war and finds something strangely familiar about the man...
The last half of this fic is an intense ride. The first half is a slightly-meandering setup, and I wanted the ending payoff to be longer, but all in all it's still a very good read.

Tony has been keeping secrets, and he's brought home a mystery blond who occupies all his time—including the time he should have been using for work. While holding things together, Pepper finds herself getting much, much closer to Natalie. But Natalie may be hiding a few secrets of her own.
