Buck moves into his new place, its pre-furnished with the sort of furniture you wouldn’t pay a second glance at in a store and bare. He starts off small; buys far too much art online to fill the gaps where too much stretch of wall exists and lined shelves with anything to leave impressions of himself within the foundation. It’s not until he’s placing far too many photographs down that he feels it- in every single photo is a trio buckeddiechris but no number of photos fill the ache left when he can’t turn around to find them there.

Sad didn’t even begin to cover it. Maddie still remembered his little face on her doorstep, eyes red but carefully blank, promising he could help with the baby and the chores and whatever else. Summary
Buck can finally see it now, he's invisible, even in a crowded firehouse he was alone. He's always been alone, and maybe that's all he's going to get in his life.
It's his fault anyway for filing that lawsuit and hurting the closest thing he can call family. He lost them all in one fell swoop, destroying his relationship with each of them.
Contrary to what everybody thinks, he can take a hint. He's just a colleague to them now, if that's what it took to make them happy then Buck will step back and let them live their life.
