Martha Arkham-Wayne’s ancestors tried to trap the spirits that haunted their city. They built a maze of sewers beneath a maze of streets, each doubling over the other in dizzying spirals to keep the monsters at bay. Her father had always told her that they succeeded - that the spirits were trapped, and would never be able to hurt her or her brother. But the monsters weren’t the only things they trapped.
