Basically, the Champions' bodies were trapped inside the blights (preserved as well) and when Link defeated the blights they came out of them???
and they are there during the Upheaval and stuff.

Revali also goes through physical therapy due to some major injuries that Mipha can't completely heal"I don't NEED therapy! I'm perfectly fine!" *Cries in his room for 6 hours because he feels like a failure*
