This happens between Fusion Confusion and Insect Master's Trap (Episodes 27-28 of Season 02). Kari gives Veemon advice on how to convince Gatomon to like him. Davis at some point starts watching. He soon approaches them. I have to thank Redrover for ultimately giving me the inspiration for the start of this fic. Veemon's cum contains magical properties?! Hikari can't get enough! The story is better written than the summary.

Summary
The entire situation was a series of grand and horrible flukes and coincidences. Akira never really got the memo on what it meant to be a Chosen Child, but it probably doesn’t mean being terrified of your own partner, though she does have a valid reason. In a grand scheme to give one final chance to those who really don’t deserve it, a group of kids are saddled with some of the Digital World’s worst, and Akira got the short end of the stick in stealing her partner’s data from the jaws of death, and now is just hoping they don’t kill her once they have a form that can do so. Her mind conjuring her worst fears while she sleeps isn’t helping either.
