"Adora?" Someone said behind her, a light tremor in their voice.
Adora turned around and her breath caught. Standing there, looking as stunningly beautiful as the day Adora had left her, was Catra Weaver, her childhood friend, her ex-girlfriend, her former everything.
"Hey, Catra." Adora stammered out, completely unprepared for this eventuality. She knew she was going to have to face her at some point, but she didn't expect it to be so soon. All the speeches she had prepared, the apologies, the explanations, caught in her throat, and the silence grew between them grew longer and longer.
As it did, Catra's face morphed from outright shock, to anticipation, then to abject rage. She bared her teeth and snarled, "That's it? Three years and that's all you have to say?"

After her time at college comes to an end, Adora returns to her hometown to face bittersweet memories, and those she left behind.

Ever since the Heart, her girlfriend had finally acknowledged that she needed more self-care: and that began with her sleep schedule. Catra didn't mind it though.
