Rhae was talking to Laenor before that, just as he lowered his gaze at Alicent, a surprised and wide expression. Just as his lips fell agape, his eyes darkened only for a moment.
“I’m back!” A loud noise came from behind Alicent, enough to make her jump out of Rhae’s warm half-embrace.
Noticing out of the corner of her eye as Rhae snapped his gaze away, eyes abusing his pint, a soft blush appeared on his pale cheeks.

She's far too mean, reminds Rhaenyra of every girl that would have bullied her in high school, has a douchey boyfriend, and listens to terrible pop music and nothing else. Couldn't be more opposite of Rhaenyra if she tried. However, when the two of them exchange notes and homework for their shared class, both of them discover that maybe they were wrong about each other. This, of course, is terrible news for everyone involved.
