Summary
“The men in this town want women, and not just to warm their beds at night. They want conversation. They want entertainment. They want company, pure and simple. Men without women, they start yearnin’. A sadness creeps into their hearts. And I consider it my duty as an upstanding American to help them with their problem, and make a little dough while I’m at it.” Chester tapped the side of his nose. “All they need is the illusion, you see; the illusion of the weaker sex. A little innocence, a little sweetness, a little glamour. Most of ‘em—soldiers, ranchers, miners—ain’t seen nor touched a woman in months, years even. They’re satisfied with anything.”
Marty gaped at him. “You want me to play a girl to—to satisfy—”
“Just dancing, as I said.” The bartender raised a finger. “No kissing, cuddling, touching or petting. None of that here. Just dancin’. Elegantly, maybe even seductively, but nothin’ more. You’ve got no idea just how gently and daintily these scruffy miners can dance, son. It’s a sight to make you weep.”
--When Marty becomes stuck in 1885, he takes a job at the Palace Saloon to earn money for him and Doc. Unfortunately, he catches the eye of Buford Tannen, who takes a liking to 'Marlene'.

While sheltering for the night in an abandoned barn outside Hawthorne, they found a set of shackles dangling from a support beam. And the moment he saw the idea catch fire in Buford’s eye, Marty knew he wouldn’t fight him. Not one damn bit.

Summary
Marty hadn't had dreams this vivid in a long time.
Which was why it was perfectly, understandably confusing when Marty awoke in the middle of the night to Buford's backside grinding into him.

Summary
There was something about not knowing where one person ended and the other began, about all the hands and hair, teeth and sweat. It was one of the most intoxicating, delectable sins Marty had ever experienced.
And it was happening again.

Summary
Marty shut his eyes and bit his lip, denying Buford the noises he wanted to hear. It was a hopeless cause; they knew Marty would be a keening mess before long, but he would still fight. He always did. That was their whole thing; Buford talked dirty, and Marty crumbled into a pathetic, whimpering puddle, happy as a clam.

Summary
Clint's pushing back now, finding the rhythm of the give and take that makes this fun. It's about the only rhythm he finds, though, which confounds Buck because he thought musicians excelled at this kind of thing.

Summary
Everett Young used to run in an outfit with Buford way back when, before Buford decided to lead his own pack. […] [He] was a genial guy. Pulled his weight. Strong as an ox and as imposing as Buford, but not unapproachable. Everett knew how to laugh, told a good story, and filled their plates with rainbow trout daily. Still, you couldn’t quite call him friendly; Everett knew how to function in a group setting, how to survive in numbers, and that would do for the duration of their time together.
Marty couldn't fucking wait for him to leave.

Summary
On their last night in Carrizo Springs, Ceegar and Stubble had a girl on each arm, and Buck had a pile of winnings at the gambling table. Marty splurged on a room in the La Mesa Hotel — "We're robbing a stagecoach tomorrow, aren't we?" — and, apparently, a new pair of braided brown leather chaps.

Summary
He imagines it's happened; they'd been in an outfit together for a long time, so odds are, it has happened. And it pisses Marty off a bit to think about, though he can't pinpoint where the jealousy is coming from. Either he's pissed at the thought of Stubble passionately kissing Buford, or he's pissed that Stubble would have the audacity to kiss Buford in the first place. To think he wants that.

Summary
They afforded themselves a night in a hotel in Dallas. They lit every light in the room, paid for the good beds, and had warm water hauled up to the bath. Being this far east felt exotic after a lifetime west of the Rockies. It colored their blood a hotter shade of red.

Summary
They’d all had each other at some point. There were favorites, of course, but the man sitting next to you at the campfire would do when the itch needed to be scratched.
Unless you were Buford.
