“You have not been obedient, pet.”
Tony stared with wide eyes. Victor’s domineering demeanor always frightened him a little - but that was the point, he supposed. Tony Stark had always loved the excitement, the thrill of something that scared him, something that he knew was a bad idea. Hardly able to move in Victor’s grip, Tony managed a weak nod.
“You work against your master time and time again. As though you could ever defy Doom.” Tony’s mind felt fuzzy at the edges as Victor spoke. Something about his voice always seemed to lull him into submission… Tony was never sure if that was a flaw of his own or a strength of Victor’s. He was also sure that Doom was referring to something he had done in his normal, superhero life recently to foil his plans — this side of their dynamic was a secret, a careful dance. Tony still had to stand up to anything he didn’t approve of Victor doing in his day-to-day, and to pretend to hate him to his colleagues. To pretend Tony Stark wasn’t a compromised fool sleeping with the enemy, he thought to himself briefly, grimacing at his own self-deprecation. Victor’s grip suddenly tightened, almost as if reading his mind. (Tony was never really sure he couldn’t.)
