Summary
The most important detail of the story is this: there are two gods.
There were many more than that, once. At the outset, as flora and fauna became sisters, as earth and air breathed each other’s bodies, as the sea became so vast she split herself into many so as to not collapse from her own weight, there were many gods. That is no longer the case. They, in their own, slumbering ways, are gone. Now there are two.
There is a god who kills. There is a god who dies.
---
Cloud is the god who dies. Sephiroth is the god who kills. One day, they'll become the gods of other things. It's a long road until then. -

AU where Sephiroth, after being stabbed by Cloud in Nibelheim, flees rather than falls into the reactor… only to discover that his ‘Mother’ betrayed him.
Even if he needs to set Nibelheim ablaze again. Even if he needs to burn the world to reach his goal, he will.
Sooner or later traitors will pay. -

Summary
By law, packs take care of their own. Everyone has one, arranged by the gods and linked by powerful bonds of magic. All it takes is a touch to know who belongs with whom. All it takes is reciprocity in a shared dream.
Except, Cloud wants nothing to do with packs, or destiny, or magical dreams, not even if his packmates are the four most terrifyingly powerful and incredible men in the world. If he has his way, they’ll never even figure out that he’s meant to be with them.
Too bad he’s a terrible liar.
