Summary
Grillby never wanted anything to do with his soulmate. The very fact the existed was an annoyance at best. But in a world where everyone knows the first thing their soulmate will say to them it's hard to avoid. He was perfectly fine with having casual sex with strangers and annoying his coworker. So when he does meet his soulmate and finds he actually enjoys talking to her, he finds a war within himself that he can't seem to win. And when he almost loses her in the fight, he has to confront his own wants and mind.
This is a work inspired by and taking place in the world of 'Short King' By absurdmagewrites.

Summary
Years after establishing themselves on the surface once more, monsters are faced with the possible threat of war. The only hope to avoid this outcome is for the King of the monsters to choose a bride from one of the seven human kingdoms and certify the friendship between the two races forever. However Asgore is still healing from the end of his marriage to Toriel, unsure that he can go through with essentially dating seven women at the same time. When threatening letters begin to appear in the rooms of not only Toriel, but the rooms of the women participating, he must find the culprit while also learning the secret each has brought with them. Despite the drama and the pain that still lingers, Asgore does hope to find at least a friend in the mess.
