“Speaking of cute,” Kaveh continues, “the client- you know, the one who gave me Parry? She’s totally my type.” Kaveh sighs wistfully. “It’s a shame we met through work. Otherwise, I would’ve taken her out to dinner sometime.”
With what mora? Alhaitham thinks, the witty remark on the tip of his tongue. However, the curious side of Alhaitham takes over his vocal functions.
“Your type is… cute?”
Kaveh blinks at his unusual question but recovers quickly. “Yeah, pretty much. But that’s basically everybody’s type.”
Alhaitham’s type, he surmises, is tall, blond, red-eyed architects, so he’s not sure where Kaveh is getting his evidence from.

Kaveh takes a swig of his whiskey, letting the liquid drag heat down his throat. His eyes trained right above the glass into lidded teal eyes and sets the alcohol down. “I don’t fuck on the first date unless it isn’t serious, just seems counterintuitive to me. I like to let my fruit ripen before I sink my teeth into it, tastes sweeter the longer I wait, no?”
“Hm,” Alhaitham curls into himself, eyes looking up at him wantonly. He’s clearly buzzed, flush sitting high on his cheeks. “If you took a bite waiting too long for it to ripen, wouldn’t it have gone bad?”
Kaveh breathes out heavily. This minx.
“You wouldn’t go bad for me, would you?”

Kaveh comes back to Sumeru after years of moving away. His return evokes old feelings to come bubbling to the surface, for both him and Alhaitham.
