After Cain’s death and Chloe’s sudden disappearance, life feels empty for Lucifer. He drifts through his days, clinging to her last message: 'I need some space. Please.' Weeks pass in silence until it’s broken by Daniel of all people calling him to the precinct. Reluctantly, Lucifer goes, only to find himself face to face with the last being he’d expected to see – his twin, Michael.
Everything in Lucifer’s world gets turned on its head that day. Faced with his a twin who claims no memory of him – who, in fact, seems to be human, with only the barest scraps of divinity to him – Lucifer has to try and figure out what’s going on and what exactly happened to his twin. Something which only grows more difficult with Chloe’s return and the sudden appearance of a priest who’d like nothing more than to send him back to hell.
Family wounds, old betrayals, and divine secrets collide as Lucifer hunts for the truth. One he hopes won’t end up destroying them all.

Learned that from experience, several times over. Am I just in the same olde cycle again? Responding to Daad, blowing hot and cold without discernible pattern?”
“Lucifer, there’s no human advice that covers this,” Linda reasons. “Adult human children in your situation often choose no contact with an oppressive parent, but clearly that is not an option for you. You wanted the contact with Him until very recently, what changed?”
“I can’t go back to Hell, Linda. I might lose my mind. Forget about this place, forget about her.” Lucifer’s voice breaks, merging with the anguish he knows his partner felt when she said those words.

Lucifer and Chloe are now in a relationship. Things are looking good for them at first, just some usual bumps in the road to work out (it is Lucifer's first actual relationship after all) but then celestial craziness starts to mess with things.

Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson is on Vacation in Los Angeles after her most recent – most troublesome – case in Belfast. She tries to relax a bit, far away from home, when she runs into LAPD Homicide Detective Chloe Decker. Both are instantly intrigued by the other and catch feelings, but Chloe is still officially married to her Ex Dan, who doesn’t exactly want to let her go and dislikes Stella the moment he meets her. (Dan is lowkey the villain in this, I’m actually not even sorry, Dan in the earlier seasons especially S1 was soo annoying. But because I think we all came to grow fond of him after a while, I need to clarify that this is another Dan than we know, who’s a much bigger asshole.)
Also, Lucifer doesn’t exist in this because as much as I love him, Chloe deserved someone who treated her right from the beginning.
& This story takes place shortly after the events of Series 3 of The Fall and prior to Season 1 of Lucifer. -
