Summary
In the wake of Rodrigue's death, Felix is forced to abandon the Kingdom's front lines to assume the responsibilities of the Duke of Fraldarius - a role that he, as the second son, was never prepared to assume. Fortunately, Sylvain is more than willing to go with him for moral support. Unfortunately, Sylvain is actively struggling with massive insecurities of his own.
Surely, this combination of unstable emotional states between a pair of lifelong friends will not end in consequences.
(Or, Felix lets Sylvain teach him how to cope the only way he knows how.)

The man’s eye immediately softened when he looked at the Archbishop. “Byleth…” he spoke in a low tone. “...is he real?”
The Archbishop–Byleth–gave a firm nod. “He’s very much real, Dimitri. But right now, he needs to rest-”“But how do we know if it’s him?” the man pressed. “How do we know it’s really him? How do we not know it’s the same people who assumed the role of Monica and Tomas? How do we know that he won’t stab us in the back and kill us all?” The man focused back onto Glenn. “I say we strike now, before he has the chance to heal and get back to full strength. Destroy the seeds of tragedy and despair before they get the chance to sprout.”
Glenn, if it was any other circumstance, would’ve gotten angry, and reply with his own remark. Maybe even fight if he was physically able to. But one detail made his mind spin, made his whole world pause and destroy everything that he thought he knew or understood.
“Dimitri…?”

He has been a friend, an invaluable asset, a true leader, and has shown me what it means to be a king. And more than that, he has been a father to me. But Rodrigue has fallen ill. And I have been informed it does not seem he has long to live. He is being well cared for, kept very comfortable in the Saint Cethleann hospital here in Fhirdiad. We are doing everything we can to make sure that he does not suffer in his illness."
Dimitri steels himself, his expression a mess of turmoil.
"I come to you not only with this update, but with a request. Five years ago, following the death of Glenn Fraldarius, Rodrigue’s older son, his younger son Felix also left home. We kept it quiet as much as possible, but I come to you now with a plea. Not as your prince, but as a man. A man losing someone he loves. Felix, please. Come home. Your father needs you. We need you."
