“What are you doing so far from Westminster, Desmond?” he asks the dog, who barks in response. “I’m sorry, I don’t have any treats for you. Let me take you to your mistress, I’m sure she’ll be very pleased to see you and give you a great number of very delicious treats.” Not to mention Mrs. Disraeli would almost certainly be going out of her mind with worry for her dog by now. How long has he been missing? It can’t have been too long or else he would’ve heard of it sooner.
Desmond whines sadly, and squirms in his arms, head turning towards the curio shop. Later on in life, Henry will look back on this moment and realize that the dog had recognized its real purpose as an Assassin bureau, but right here and now, he’s certain Desmond just likes the smells coming out of it.
or: there's something strange about Desmond. not Miles, the dog. Henry and Evie swear he's a lot smarter than other dogs. Jacob just thinks they need to get more sleep. Edward wants the Templars out of his city and preferably all dead, but that's not so easy to achieve when you're trapped in the body of a purse dog. at least there's more Assassins now, though.
