Summary
When Thorin Oakenshield sets out to reclaim Erebor, he never expects the journey to bring him face to face with a secret long buried—Belladonna Took, the hobbit he once loved, and Bilba, the daughter he never knew he had.
Young, wide-eyed, and underage by both hobbit and dwarven standards, Bilba finds herself caught between her parents' complicated past, the rising darkness of the world, and the attention of kings and warriors alike. As the company travels through dangers and wonders—trolls, orcs, spiders, and dragons—they forge a family stronger than stone. But not everyone is happy with the past rekindling, and obsession begins to grow in the hearts of unexpected allies and enemies.
With Thranduil and Bard both drawn to Belladonna for reasons as noble as they are possessive, and Dís challenging Belladonna's place at Thorin’s side, tensions rise even after Erebor is won. Battles are fought not just with blades, but with hearts, memories, and the fierce instinct to protect what is theirs.
This is a tale of love rediscovered, of a child's innocence surviving war, and of a mountain reclaimed—but at a cost no one quite expected.
