This is a work in progress. It's a story that has been living rent-free in my head for a long time, basically. It's about power and principle (with allegories to some real-world issues), and how the world doesn't change if we keep solving problems the same way we always have. The setting is a high-fantasy world with people who, depending upon where you are, have technology somewhere between the late Iron Age and the early Middle Ages, with one notable exception going so far as the Early Modern Era. If that doesn't mean anything to you that's fine, it's not critical to understanding anything. Magic features into it. and you'll learn better how it works by reading the story than this description, but I've put it to others as a blend of X-Men (discrete powers that vary from person to person) and Highlander (you can inherit someone's power by killing them, among other means). If that appeals to you, read on!

Daryun didn’t look convinced, he left, and when he passed, their arms brushed together. The very whisper of a touch sent shivers down Arslan’s spine. Almost on instinct, his hand twitched, as if to reach out and grab hold of someone, anyone.
Usually, he could control himself. Though he yearned for physical affection, he had long since learned to never ask for it. He had become a master of ignoring the itch below his skin, the hum that spread through his body when someone hand brushed over his.
He had also gotten good at hiding his illnesses, lest they be seen as weakness.
The only thing he hadn’t gotten good at was doing both at the same time.

I posted this a very long time ago. And I posted it all in the wrong order. That being said, I wrote this even longer ago. When this anime first came to the states with lovely brit voice actors. Of course I went the Daryun/Arslan route. It's so pretty. So I am reposting it in all in order.
Summary: Our darling Prince Arslan is taken taken away by an angry Goddess. Much peril happens. For him and all his loyal friends. They literally travel to hell. And I find this entire fic to be a sex scene but that's just me and boy peril. AND:
