It hit him then that he hadn’t really been feeling for the last few minutes. His body was in fight or flight, and it chose flight, prioritizing getting away from danger over feeling any fear. But now he was safe for the moment, at least relatively, and he was starting to realize just how bad this really was. William wasn’t like Vyncent, he wasn’t strong and he didn’t have powers, being out here was a death sentence for him.
Everything slowed down as he stood there, back to back with Vyncent, watching the world fall apart in front of them. Time almost seemed to stop as he had a revelation, heart dropping to his gut.
He was going to die. Again. And this time, he wasn’t going to come back.

William Wisp is not where he's supposed to be. He just died for good, a kind of death that has no possibility of being reversed. His body is destroyed and left rotting in the ground. He's supposed to be in the Spirit Realm or maybe even a wandering ghost again, left to wonder how he would've turned out had he not fallen all those ages ago. Instead, he's in his childhood bed, more alive than he's been in years and the date on his phone is two years behind. William Wisp was supposed to be dead, so why is he still breathing?
-Or; William dies in the Season 2 Finale but instead of being beaten into growth, he's isekai'd until he learns to stop being a bitch because Vyncent shouldn't be the only one having fun through dimensions!!!

Summary
Vyncent isn’t a complete idiot. He is aware of the things happening around him. He hears the remarks that Dakota makes, he notices the knowing glances that he and Ashe give each other when Vyncent and William interact.
The problem, however, is that he feels like he is just enough of an idiot to not fully understand why these occurrences are happening.
