Summary
What should've been a simple enroute mission to Starbase 10 to drop off a Starfleet Commodore ends up being a lot more than the crew can handle.
"I seem to recall countless times you and Captain Kirk were prattling on the bridge like cadets when he was in command," Stocker says, and Leonard has to bite his tongue in order to stop himself from making a very, very threatening retort that would send him off to the brig. Stocker raises a brow, as if to provoke him. "While Captain Kirk's familiarity with certain members of his crew is unorthodox and severely improper, I expect absolute professionalism within my crew."
The possessive pronoun further irks him. Stocker may be in the chair, and they may have to execute his orders, but they definitely were not his crew. That was earned, not given.
