Summary
Millennia ago, the great dragons that populated the Earth were hunted to extinction However, two dragons managed to survive by hiding in a cave, eventually learning to magically change their forms and re-enter society.
One forgave the humans for the crimes of their forefathers, choosing to move forward and not live in the past. The other was vengeful, and could not forgive humanity for what they'd done. For centuries, he worked tirelessly to create a potion that would bring about the return of the dragons, whom he would then lead to hunt humanity to extinction, believing that was their just end.
Fortunately or unfortunately, he could never perfect the potion. Until five teenagers swam through it during a field trip, and their lives were forever changed, whether they liked it or not.

Summary
Canon-divergence AU where their dinosaur telepathy is constantly active and involuntary. They hear each other's thoughts whether they want to or not as long as they're within a certain distance from each other.
The first chapter stands on its own, and none of the tagged warnings appear in the first chapter, so you're welcome to read it as a self-contained one-shot and ignore the rest. From the second chapter on, the fic gets much darker and more... medical torturey... so I wouldn't blame you.
