  Summary

  They’ve been waiting, taking their time, counting down the hours as if it were the end of the world. If it were, it’d be a fitting end, he supposed. Maybe it wasn’t a matter of ‘if’: It was. They were mercenaries. Soldiers of fortune. Pilots who never stuck around. Always counting down to the end of year, to the end of the war, to the end of their contract, to the end of their time.
