What if Elinor had died that night in the stone circle, and Merida learned the much harder way that actions do indeed have consequences—some more grave than she ever imagined? Guilt-ridden and ashamed, she fled the highlands and the fate that tied her to it only to find unexpected refuge among the Vikings.
In the far North, Hiccup grapples with the responsibilities of his new title, on top of reconciling with what he had lost, as threat loomed on the horizon. Perhaps a meeting and a lesson is due between these two.
