Summary
This moment was meant to be triumphant. A coronation, a celebration of unity. But for First, it felt like the final nail sealing his fate—a fate without Khaotung.
The cheers of the people blurred into a distant hum, their voices fading into nothingness as his entire world shrank to a single point—Khaotung, standing there with heartbreak etched into his features.
First felt his own breath hitch as he watched the realization dawn in Khaotung’s eyes. He could see it—the way his lover pieced it all together, the way his chest rose and fell as if struggling to breathe through the pain.
And as the crowd cheered for their new ruler, First realized—
He might have gained a kingdom.
But he had lost his heart.
