    Echo holstered his blaster seconds after his shot fried the door controls. The threat was gone, the room was sealed, and Fives was still clutching tight to where one stray bolt had nailed him. A lucky shot, thought Echo. Those goons could hardly shoot straight. Whoever sent them clearly couldn’t afford to hire anyone better.
    After a few more seconds of almost silence and labored breathing (those goons did have quantity over quality) Echo turned to Fives, whose face was pinched in a grimace.

    “It’s nothing—” Fives said in a thin voice before Echo could open his mouth. Already he was straightening to a less injured-seeming height and attempting to school his expression. “I’ve had worse, you know.”

Echo joining them as a strategist alongside Ghost, even before he's cleared for the field again, could mean the difference between the end of the war and the start of another.

    First, though, they need to see Echo for themselves. If only the 442nd's medics would let them.
