It was thundering outside. The old house shook with the rest of the earth as lightning tore through the air with a crack that was far too loud to bear. The storm was just the cherry on top of a cacophony of overwhelming noise however. Underneath it lies the sound of heavy breathing, the sounds of blood dripping from the hands of someone who most definitely fucked up beyond compare, along with the sounds of relief—if relief even made a sound that is.
Everything was overwhelming, not just outside his head but inside as well. Half his brain was screaming at the top of its metaphorical lungs that he was going to hell for this, that he was a monster; and of course he was, who else kills their own father, and then somehow feels relieved? The other half of his brain was telling him it wasn’t his fault, that it was okay, it was self defense, if his morals didn’t save him then at least that small reminder would. Regardless of the overwhelming screaming match between the two sides of his brain, there was one thing he and the two sides of his head managed to agree on; he needed to get the fuck out of here. -
