Legit just Mac getting licked to death by his girl.
Calm down, calm down. His girl is a dog. Get your head out of the gutter!
Based on a conversation with Team Alpaca in which Jack gets Mac a doggo for the days when the PTSD is too much to handle alone--and to get help when Mac can't, but he probably didn't bring that up until Mac was well and truly attached to the girl.

“Coffees,” Jack holds up the tray. “A whole lotta lattes, you kids with your fancy gingerbread syrups and sugar canes.”
“No, I’m talking about whatever is making your chest look like an alien is about to explode out of it.” Mac steps closer and the little furball’s legs start flailing like crazy inside his coat, twisting and wriggling and her nose pops out about the zipper.
“Oh,” Jack chuckles as though it was possible to forget that he was carrying around a puppy in his jacket. He tugs down the zipper enough for the black and white masked face to pop out. “Mac, meet Galileo.”

“I am not in agreement with this arrangement,” Fandango stated point blank as he locked the door once more behind Scaramouche and Galileo.
“Neither am I, Fan-baby, but you’re the logical one: you know this is the safest,” Scaramouche countered. “I’ll be fine, babe. Don’t worry about me, okay?” Scaramouche offered one of her real smiles for a change, but Fandango's own fear was pushing well over the bounds the dampener could handle. When one’s family needed the highest level of guard possible, how was he supposed to do anything but worry?Neither had to acknowledge that the person in charge of his and Gal’s safety was not someone any of them liked.

Scaramouche was jerked from his thoughts at Aku’s more than modest request. “Whatever your heart desires!” Scaramouche froze a moment. Anything? Sure, something tangible, he figured, but the hesitance on his face must have been an insult. “What? You think the great Aku cannot make any wish come true?”
“I want to see my family again, babe,” the words came out softly. It was a shock to even himself when he uttered them, but what other desire had he ever truly had? This was one he would never run from. It was one he could never run towards either.
“Where are they?” Aku asked. Scaramouche was a little shaken still, so Shadow supplied thankfully the correct answer.
“They were killed in an explosion.” Shadow gave the precise when and where.
“That’s it? Alright!” Scaramouche did not know much more as the floor gave way from underneath him and he was falling too fast in too narrow a space for his processor to remain online.
