The smiling critter cartoon was recreated years later to do right by the characters. They each have quirks based off the bigger bodies' personalities and experiences, but within the world of the cartoon and helping to teach life lessons. both one's every cartoon out there teaches, and the one's nobody teaches. Starts out as kids and may write some episodes of them as teenagers.

“I think we should ignore this script,” Bubba finally said after a long silence, during which Picky cleaned the dishes. She startled, dropping whatever she was washing in the sink. “Just to see what would happen."

Smiling Friends: Behind the Scenes! treats Smiling Critters like Wreck-It Ralph treats arcade games. During episode airing, the Critters follow a script given to them. However, when they aren't on air, they live their lives normally, doing whatever they please.
