Summary
This story concentrates on Tim's first months in the army. While undergoing training he writes Hawk very distressing letters, proving that he is unwilling to just forget about their relationship. But Hawk, counting the days until his wedding to Lucy Smith, is determined to put a stop to this sordid business.
The plot is largely similar to the one in 'Maurice' where Alec Scudder keeps hounding Maurice Hall after their first illicit night together. If you don't know the movie or the novel, I suggest that you watch or read it because the tragedy of a man getting married so as to no longer count as gay is depicted as masterfully as in 'Fellow Travelers'. However, if you are not familiar with the former two masterpieces, you can still read my fic without missing out on plot twists.
