Summary
He’d been terrified to meet her. He’d put on a brave face. Erin Hunnicutt had sharp, observant eyes. She could see right through him. Here they were again. They were making spaghetti in the kitchen, with Beej unexpectedly detained, and something else off.
“I don’t know. Tastes change. People change,” he said.
He turned away from her to pour hot water into their mugs (chamomile, with a little honey in Erin’s). He turned back and set the mug down in front of her.
“How much do they change?” Erin said.
“What?” Hawkeye said.
She curled her hands around the mug, too tightly, he thought. She had to be burning herself.
“How much can people change?” she said.

Summary
The town of Ashwick, Virginia, sits in a forgotten pocket of the state, nestled between the rolling Appalachian foothills and a once-thriving railway line that now only sees the occasional freight train. Though two decades have since passed the town is stuck in the early 1950’s and remains stubbornly fixed that way, refusing to acknowledge the world beyond its county lines had moved on without it. This is the town that the former Major Margaret Houlihan moved to in 1955 with her newborn baby girl.
When Mary-Jane Houlihan visits her hometown in the summer of 1997, she learns about her mother's past when she finds an old collection of diaries in the attic.

Summary
Her neck started receiving wet kisses that later turned to light bites, to sucking on the sensitive skin behind her ear, which drove her insane and made her want to kiss her dream’s lover hard. She wanted- No, she needed tongue to tongue contact, just as much as an itch needs to be scratched. Margaret reached for the lips now moving down her stomach, but she didn’t find anything there, just her own skin. She opened her eyes. Her lover had no head, no face; it was just a uniform.
Or: Margaret tries to pick a face for the person in her wet dream and is surprised by her answer.
