He didn’t respond at first, drawing in deep gasps of air as if he wasn’t getting enough oxygen, and the group shared a worried glance as they moved him slowly to the couch. Upon sitting him down, they waited for the man to recover enough to give an explanation.
“Drex happened,” he breathed out, a wince etched in his face, and he pulled back his arm enough to assess his own wound. Blood squelched from four deep gashes in his stomach, pouring out from the opened wounds, and he quickly pressed his hand back against his stomach to staunch the flow.
