    Puzzles had always drawn Tony, and there was no greater puzzle than the God of Mischief. What began as morbid curiosity, self-destructive impulse, and unsubtly veiled threats had spiraled into something even Tony Stark could not have foreseen. With a battle looming on the horizon, was the side he had chosen the right one? Even if it was... would he be able to convince his friends, and gain the allies that he and Loki so desperately needed? For each piece of the puzzle he managed to solve, he was left with more questions than he began with, and very few satisfactory answers.     Stephen Strange used to pride himself on being a pragmatist, a man of science and logic. And then aliens came out of the sky in New York City and the entire world changed, and not four years later his personal world was shaken to its core. Maybe that's the reason he now found himself able to justify his latest hair-brained scheme by sending Thor and Loki back in time to stop Thanos before he ever came to Earth.

    Or maybe he'd finally lost his mind.

    Either way, Thor had to give up his whole universe for a better one, one where his mother is still alive and Hela is still a forgotten buried memory while the Avengers are an initiative in one man's mind rather than a team. Loki was given the chance to make right the things he now regretted.

    But what does Darcy Lewis have to do with either, much less saving the entire world?

You quickly state you’re late to meet your fiancé and hurry on. You hear the man start to follow you. Quickening your pace, you turn a corner and spy someone who reminds you of the Avengers. You know they’re the heroes who saved New York but you never really paid them much attention. You can’t remember which avenger is before you but you’re sure he’ll help you.  As you get closer he seems to be distracted by a glowing blue cube in his hands. You wrap an arm around him and whisper, “I need you to pretend to know me for a moment. Please help me.” You’re not sure if it’s your tone or the fact you’re shaking but when you lock eyes, you know you’ve got this man’s full attention.

    “Tell me pet, what has you so terrified, so … desperate you’d seek out my help?”
    That’s when you realize this isn’t an Avenger, it’s the man who led the attack on New York. You’ve just asked Loki for help.
