After their defeat at the hands of the Kingdom of Nohr, the Hoshidan royal family is held captive by King Garon in his fortress at the heart of the capital of Windmire.
Here, the Hoshidan royal family and their retainers are imprisoned and made to suffer.
It is not known where the rest of the Hoshidan Royal Family and it's entourage are being held, or even if they are still alive, but hope runs deep in Hoshidan hearts and they are not ones to break so easily.

Summary
Since Lucina's death in the final fight against Grima, Cynthia has been buried under the weight of her duties and peoples' expectations. Severa, Owain, and Inigo's disappearance hits her hard--not just because she misses them, but also because she desperately wishes they took her with them. Through a series of events, she finds herself in another world in a country called Hoshido. Looking completely different and given a new name by the locals who took her in, Sumiko slowly adjusts to a new life. But like all good things in her life, it doesn't last.

“Absolutely rich coming from you at the moment,” Takumi retorted, gesturing toward the murderous plants surrounding him. “At least your corpse will have only one wound. What would they even make of mine?”Tensions grow between the countries of Hoshido and Nohr as it seems war is inevitably in their future. The two younger royal princes clash endlessly at the border, eager to prove something to themselves and their families, their rivalry teetering on the brink of full-scale conflict. However, when their most recent bout ends with both princes injured and unable to fight, faced with a common enemy, they must quickly learn how to work together if they want to survive and return to their families without stoking the flame of true conflict.

After the Conquest of Hoshido ended in a tense peace after the death of King Garon of Nohr, many feel aimless and are still trying to figure out their role in these new times, such as the swordmaster Hinata, a retainer who failed his duty. After being approached by the newly crowned Queen Hinoka of Hoshido, Hinata finds himself given charge of the border realm Satsuma, which contains the unique quality of having a calm and large crossing between the two kingdoms of Nohr and Hoshido. Asked to bring order and prosperity to a ravaged land, he seeks to make up for his failure in protecting his lord in battle. He is not alone however, with a Nohrian contingent lead by the Nohrian princess Corrin looking to help bridge the gap between the nations and another more personal reason for the princess.
