Summary
Tara could count the ceiling tiles and bright fluorescent lights again, but she felt her sister's hand on her shoulder before she could.
"Chad will be fine, it's all over. And we should probably head home."
Tara looked back down at Chad and she felt herself stiffly nod. "Sorry." She doesn’t dive deeper into why she wanted to stay, as they both knew. When she stands up, the chair makes a screeeeeeech when it slides against the tile floor. She doesn't look away from Chad as she goes to leave. He seemed peaceful in his sleep, even with all the cords and beeping happening in the hospital room.
"Breaking news!" The TV in the top corner of the room sputters to life, completely changing from the romcoms it happened to be playing. "After the violent murders being put to rest in New York, two bodies have been identified as the Ghostface killers. Detective Wayne Bailey and his daughter Quinn Bailey-"
The TV seems to become a dull ringing in Tara's ears as her mind only focuses on one thing...
