Summary
Classically, when an Icarus falls in love with the sun, it is the human who falls and burns up in his foolish attempt to touch divinity. Cor knows better than to act on his feelings for King Ardyn Lucis Caelum, the star whom all of Lucis revolves around, because when mortals love kings, it rarely end well for the mortal.
But it is Ardyn who falls when the secret of his healing powers is revealed to the kingdom, and Cor is the only Icarus fool enough to try and catch a star before the sea swallows him whole.
