“Oh, that’s perfect!” gasped Kara, “Donna hasn’t been to the boardwalk yet! She’ll love it! Text Barbara! Ask her right now!”
“Wait,” interjected Roy, “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We don’t even know that Donna wants to go on a date with me.”
“Aw!” beamed Donna from behind Roy, “Roy! I’d love to!”
Roy went right back to being red again. He slowly turned around to smile uneasily at Donna.
“Really?” he croaked, “That’s great!”
Donna smiled back at Roy. He chuckled uncomfortably.
“Babs says yes,” said Dick casually, checking his phone.
“Great!” exclaimed Kara, “Donna, what do you think of Dick and Barbara going along too?”
“Haha, a double date!” declared Donna, “Yes, please do come along!”
“This really is perfect!” added Wally, “I was just looking for a place to take Linda. The boardwalk sounds perfect.”
Everyone paused for a moment before turning to Wally. He stood at the end of the bar beside Donna, casually leaning against the counter with a drink in his hand. He smiled as he took a sip. Roy sighed. Donna giggled. Dick signalled for the tab.
