It begins, as many things do for him, as an errant thought. He sees Penelope in her new attire and notices just how grown up she looks, how like a mature young lady, not the girl he thought she was when he left. His mind reels back to how she looked when they were children, before she was old enough to have her skirts let down, when they used to run through the yards of Aubrey Hall and wade through the stream that ran behind it. A pale ankle flashes across his mind, and he cannot help but wonder what her ankles look like now, tucked away as they are, beneath her long, voluminous skirts and hidden from view. Are they still freckled from the sun or has she rid herself (or been ridden by her mother, more likely) of the tendency to bury her bare toes in the grass as she reads?
or, Colin becomes consumed with the need to know if Penelope's ankles are as freckled as they were in her youth (s3 part 1 through that filter).

Montparnasse is another one who has apparently written a LOT of wolfstar and I am just one busy human who has still not read sooo many of her fics, but they’re probably all amazing because her prose is truly beautiful. “All Manner of Wolves” is a short sweet little first-kiss fic, and “Leave the Children Behind” is a long, beautiful Lie Low at Lupin’s story. Again, her prose, her imagery/descriptive language, her use of metaphor … utterly stunning. --ttfn
