Summary
I am floating alone in the dark.
It is vastness, an empty space too great and terrible to comprehend, but it does not frighten me. It beckons me temptingly, its power both ancient and timeless. Almost, in the blackness, I can feel the sensation of a hand brushing against mine, fleeting and brief, like a pair of strangers passing too closely upon a crowded street.
But the hand does not feel like that of a stranger. It feels as familiar to me as my very own.
