    Summary

When the Fool returns to Fitz’s life after decades away, Fitz has everything he could possibly need: his home in Withywoods, his daughter, and now his dearest friend back by his side. But while the Fool’s presence stirs up long-buried emotions and raises uncomfortable questions regarding Bee’s parentage, the Farseers find a way to tangle Fitz and the Fool back into the world of royal politics. As Fitz embarks on a journey that forces him to face the life that the Fool has lived in his absence, he must finally confront the questions that have gone unanswered for twenty-five years.

(A sequel to After the Sun Has Set—AU where Amber moves back to Bingtown after Fool’s Fate.)

    Summary

I was exhausted from the late night with Chade and Kettricken and could scarcely imagine the walk to the Witness Stones, let alone the nauseating voyage through the Skill-pillar, and the icy destination. The Fool will be there, I reminded myself. He’s waiting for apricots.
I looked down at my basket, which did not contain apricots.

In a rare moment of caution, Fitz realizes that he is not well enough to travel through the Skill-pillars. He takes a week so that the Fool can heal, and during this time, Fitz tries to come to terms with his 17-year-old memories and emotions that have returned to his 34-year-old life.

Updates weekly (may need to skip a rare week for IRL reasons).

    Summary

"So you like that, then?" Amber asked me opaquely. "Do you enjoy it when I choose to torment you? When I 'speak plainly', as you've so often demanded of me in the past? Well? Is this more to your taste? Would you like it if I kept on speaking to you this way, and telling you exactly what to do?"

"I like it when you speak to me at all," I said tightly, clenching my fists at my sides and staring at her raised, clothed knee longingly. I wanted, impetuously, to push her skirt aside and run my hand over her long, slender leg. Wanted to kiss up it slowly, and then nibble at the crease just behind her knee to see if that spot was ticklish...

In which the quarrel is untangled, Amber is given her dues, and Fitz is brought willingly to his knees.

    Summary

“The world fell away, and the Skill-river took me. I would certainly have come apart right then and there were it not for the Fool and his grip on me: his hand in mine, his soul in mine, a whirling stream of sound and colour and light and vast, beating wings. I felt it then, the core of him, the truth of the Fool beyond the personas he played; the heart of his being, which once was named Beloved. I have no words for it, now or then, but I felt it swirl and surround me and I knew his love for me, its expanse, its endless ache, like falling into a warm blue ocean with unfathomable depth.“

Or: they talk things out, but are no closer to coming to an understanding.

"Say, how many men do you think I laid with ?"

The suddenness of the question nearly makes me flinch, the Fool's words abrasive as a newly sharpened blade, drawing blood with a simple glance. Instead I freeze, unsure if my ears work correctly. I drop all pretense of the play I entertained until now, shedding Tom Badgerlock away in a movement of pure shock."

    Summary

“Do we have to go?” I asked at last, the words falling from my mouth like rocks. My spouse universally loved parties, and Springfest was her favorite. I knew I might enjoy myself once we arrived, but I dreaded going. My family would be there, and all Buckfort had been invited. We should go.
Still, I did not want to.

A Western AU where Fitz has to, horror of horrors, go to a Springfest party at the local saloon with his family. There will be complaining, dancing, cards of various types, coffee, and Fitz's silly opinions about beer.

No real plot spoilers, but there are character spoilers through GF.

    Summary

    Go north.

Those had been Paragon’s words to me, on that fateful morning. I had nearly made my peace with the fate of leaving my Catalyst to trace his own path, unencumbered by the oppressive nudge of my cruel hand, steering the narrative of his life to my leisure. Reality, as usual, had imposed itself: I must once more meddle with his life again, plunging him into danger and hoping to pull him back, unscathed. If only I could persuade him to take back that role.

This time, on Aslevjal, it is my turn to die.

I had lost count of how many days had passed since the Fool had said those words to me. Though Chade’s grim promises of forbidding the Fool from sailing into his life’s purpose – a Convergence, he had called it – had soothed the worst of my raging fears, the words of the Fool’s final prophecy lurked untamed in the dark crevices of my mind. I needed only close my eyes to see their fiery brand on the back of my eyelids, flashing brighter the closer the day of our departure. In the throes of that fear, I knew only this: I musn't allow it to be.

    Summary

'For a second, Althea seemed to reconsider her words, then directed Amber an inquiring glance. “You will travel with us to Bingtown, of course? Now that you’ve seen the blasted things, well, I can tell you there is not much else to be done in Cassarick.”

I expected the Fool to deflect, finding a polite but definite way to end this encounter and convince the woman we were quite determinately northward bound. He opened his mouth – or Amber did –, and I knew my expectation would be in vain while he searched his mind for words to say.

“I would love nothing more,” Amber said, in her dreamy, wistful tone. It was the honesty in her voice, perhaps, that drove the knife the deepest into me.'

In spite of the Fool's protestations, FitzChivalry follows after the two Prophets as they depart from Aslevjal, headed to Clerres. Tension grows within the small company; separated from Prilkop and stranded in the Rain Wilds, the Fool runs into an unexpected friend, very conveniently captain to a nearby anchored liveship. Though still harboring hopes to bring Beloved safely back to the Six Duchies, Fitz is forced to confront hard truths about his friend and, most importantly, himself.

    Summary

“Pelides,” they cheered for me. Peleus’s son. “Aristos Achaion,” they screamed, best of the Achaeans, best of the Greeks. Sometimes, they chanted the name my parents gave me, “Achilleos.” In the cacophony of voices, it shortened and blurred, their impatient tongues gliding the vowels together.
Even if they had slowed their speech, it would not have been my name, for I had been granted a truer one over a decade ago, when my mouth first graced his in the rocky meadow by Chiron’s cave.

A retelling of the Iliad where Fitz is Achilles and Beloved is Patroclus. The war has raged on this beach for ten years with no sign of ending.

Contains references (and spoilers) to the Farseer trilogy and Tawny Man trilogy (primarily RA and FF).
