Summary
Jade Harley had been only ten years old when she'd found the book in her grandpa's study. Old, worn, grey cover with MYST stamped on the front and side. Living on a tropical island with only a dog for company could lead a child to do things she probably shouldn't do.
Like stack a pile of boxes and climb onto them to grab at books on a high shelf because the lower shelves had all been read through already. Like pull that single book off the shelf by accident and have it fall open to a well worn front page with a moving picture.
As any young child without guidance might do, she impulsively touched the picture, and then she was on a very different tropical island.
