Summary
Ben Cobalt moves to New York, an escape he wants but also is extremely unsure about. Now a student at Manhattan Valley University, he is ready to embrace his new normalcy and have a fresh start. But when a MVU professor turns out to be pretty unaccommodating, Ben is reintroduced to Harriet Fisher. He once said that she is his only friend but what if she becomes more than that? What if she becomes his mentor? What if she becomes his girlfriend? What if she becomes more?
Harriet Fisher is a busy girl. Many jobs, a past that keeps her up at night, a small family she wants to give the world to, and ambitions that she will go to any length for, her schedule is packed. In that schedule, she has to now make time for Ben Cobalt, a guy she just cannot understand. She does, and what starts off as mere friendship and an academic exchange becomes much more complicated when the knowledge of an inheritance and a proposed arrangement entangles her and her new friend.

Summary

Ben Cobalt, the hopeless romantic and MVU hockey player extraordinaire, is stumped when Krisha Kapoor, Fizzle’s board member, suggests he date her granddaughter. He cannot upset a board member, not when she holds importance for more than just Fizzle in Philadelphia’s business circle. But he cannot do this. But a week in Italy, where the realities of New York can’t touch them, was enough to make the lines between that promise blur. Everything was perfect. The cocktails always tasted right, the laughs were always full and alive. But perfect things are sure to have an expiration date, and for Charlie and Roxanne, theirs comes in the form of flying back to the place they both seemingly called home, where Charlie knows their bittersweet fairytale can go nowhere unless it is to an inevitable, agonizing end. Pretending was fun while it lasted, but it should have never happened in the first place.
