Zuko, exhausted from juggling the tasks of leading a country while barely an adult, aiding his sister's rehabilitation, and dodging increasingly frequent assassination attempts that the Kyoshi Warriors themselves can hardly keep up with, hires a bodyguard. When an old flame, long believed to be dead, strolls through the Palace doors, Zuko takes a leap of faith and hires him. Zuko himself has changed, after all. And what they had was in the past — they can both be professional about this.
