Summary
Loosely based on the idea that Ceres was originally one of the outer protoplanets forming but was pulled inwards when Jupiter migrated. This caused Ceres to end up in the asteroid belt and not ever become a fully fledged "planet."
Ceres has spent 4.5 billion years in the asteroid belt, most of it alone. But there were a few times when they weren't. (Or: Ceres from the early solar system to now.)
