"Oh. Um, hi, D." When Jon had invited him in, he hadn't thought that Damian would recognise his clothes. "This is—er, rather embarrassing," he admitted, seeing Damian raise both eyebrows.
"What exactly are you referring to? The fact that you're wearing my clothes, the fact that you stole them, or the fact that you were caught in the act?"

Jon shook his head and ran a hand through his hair. "Nothing, just... maybe I heard something." He swallowed and glanced over his shoulder, but he could see nothing but total darkness. But what the hell—

"I told you. Criminals are using this place for their own filthy convenience."
"Okay, but that doesn't explain what—"
I'm afraid.
Jon blinked again. This time, he had heard correctly; it was Damian's voice. Clear and crisp; not a whisper in his head. "Why are you afraid?" he asked. At that point, Damian turned away, blinking beneath his mask.
"What?"
"You said you were afraid," Jon pointed out. "I just wanted to—"
"I'm not afraid at all. I don't understand where you got that idea from."
