A deep exploration of the story of my Tav (Idrin) and Astarion (unascended) teaching each other how to love again, from start to finish of the game. (With some sprinkles of sexy scenes of course.) If you're unfamiliar with Baldur's Gate 3, there will be some violence and manipulation and trauma, though mine will have very little gore and a lot more on the emotional and traumatic sides of the story, (my Tav's backstory is kind of dark, and there will be a lot of focus on that and Astarion's history as it goes along through the adventure), so full warning in advance if those are subjects that could be triggering for you. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy!

Welcome back to my readers from part one. If you're new here, well met! My BG3 fanfic with a (relatively) emotionally well-adjusted Tav. There's a lot about half-orc Thenbara's backstory and stronghold, including her (hopefully funny) inner dialogue/internal monologue. I've created a lot of my own orcish lore and language, while still trying to be faithful to D&D/Forgotten Realms content and rules.
While much of the game will be mentioned, the story mostly revolves around the companions' relationships to Thenbara and eachother, with buckets of non-game/extra-canon dialogue. While my story is generally canon compliant, I do minorly tweak the odd thing here and there, mostly adding in things that I (and many people) wish were in the game. NSFW, smut in Chapter 2. Lots of spoilers for Baldur's Gate 3 Act 2 gameplay. Relationship tags and general tags will be updated as we go.
Applicable content warnings posted at the beginning of each chapter, but please request any you think need to be there that I haven't added. Translations of Orcish words and phrases in the notes at the end. Chapters average 4000-5000 words. Not beta-read. Comments appreciated, I hope you enjoy.

It's 1980-something and the eclectic band Astarion and The Misfits has enjoyed moderate success so far. But as the band heads out on their first national tour, lead singer/songwriter Astarion is falling apart.
His traumatic past is catching up to him and it's getting harder to hide his worsening cocaine habit from his band. The only time he feels something approaching okay is when he's writing music, or around his keyboardist and best friend, Gale.
Will Astarion be able to pull himself together enough to deal with his painful past and out-of-control present before it's too late to save his future? Or is he doomed to repeat the cycle and end up as just another tragic rock and roll cautionary tale?

Their daughter Neeve just got married to Maddox Ravengard, everyone is immortal and can't age (except Halsin and Lae'Zel), and their family and friends all live in a little community on their own land. However, Emmy's brother Fanden is being chased down by a portion of his past that he wants to erase from his memory, causing Emmy to get paranoid and deal with the dread of anxiety. On top of that, Fanden is greeted with the surprise of a lifetime.

The only comfort Astarion had in the years of hell he has endured under Cazadors control has been a golden ring with a chip of fire stone. No matter how many times Cazador has thrown it away, burnt it, or sold it, it always returns to him, good as new. His master gave up after a decade and told him to hide it, lest it impact his ability to lure unsuspecting victims back to his lair. Astarion has no memory of who gave him the ring, and the inscription "May we always return to each other" offered no help. But still, it is a comfort.
When the tadpole is forced into his skull, and he has to join a ragtag group of weirdos just to survive while he figures out his new found abilities, he finds himself fiddling with it more often now that he won't get punished for it. But the wizard, Gale, keeps staring at it, and it makes Astarion uneasy. He tries to hide it, but the need to touch it, to hold it, is too great.
So he endures the stares, and hopes that whatever the wizards reasons, he can use it to his advantage to finally be free from his masters clutches, and maybe find out who gifted him the only item he has of his life before he was a spawn.
And they may be closer than he knows.

This is a largely lore-compliant fanfic between a female Dark Urge elf and the druid Halsin from Baldur's Gate 3. Basically I take dialogue from the game, add some things, move some stuff around and delete others to capture the story through a different medium. Having some knowledge of the game will likely make it an easier read, because I won't be going into the adventures too much, but rather focusing on the relationships between the characters.

Astarion and Lyra meet at a tavern in the Lower City and immediately hit it off, but the mysterious elf disappears - until they're reunited weeks later on the beach after getting picked up by a Nautiloid. Follow their love story throughout the events of the game as Lyra risks it all to help him Ascend and then grapples with the fallout. Can they find their way back to each other after everything falls apart?
The prologue is pre-canon and Act 1 covers the events of the game. Acts 2 and 3 take place post-game.
